We've Arrived...

Eric and I just got hooked up to the internet today. We arrived in Arua last Friday evening with our possessions in tow. I wanted to quickly get a post published with a picture of our home before hurrying to make supper. Sufficed to say that we are very happy to be in our home. We thank God for having such a wonderful place to live. Any and all are welcome to visit... we are open for business.

Hey Smiths!
I had a picture in my mind for over a month of you standing on the front porch. Sorry I can't also see the washing machine.

I hope the search for furniture is successful. Let your needs be known. There will be answers.

Much love
Mom

Hey Team Smith,

Glad to see you made it! It definitely looks liveable. Where's the avocado tree.

Blessings,
Julia

One of the avocado trees is in the left of the picture. We are told that it isn't the season for avocados yet for our particular kind of tree. It will be fun when it is.

Welcome to Arua!

Great to hear that you are getting settled. We will be looking forward to further updates, the state of the garden, and what is available in the markets. Looks liek a great place for a goat and some rabbits!

Congratulations on finally arriving "HOME". Now you can have the fun of setting it up so you can work out of it and meeting people you can invite in! At least I hopeit doesn't have purple walls and green-painted cement floor (the only paint available when they were fixing up our first house for us - and our bathroom was 1 m x 1m with a hole in the middle. I'm very glad your is more upscale that that!

Here's the book Dan Fountain mentioned, AFRICAN FRIENDS AND MONEY MATTERS by David Maranz. Would you like me to get it and send it to you?

Love, mama a
